Betwixt the Magpie and Dove

The Magpie loves passionately,
with eyes of Red,
while the Dove, envies in its White
the Magpie thrills in the dark of the day,
as the Dove sidles in the night,
the Magpie drains every moment away,
while the dove seeks to fill its chasms,
the Magpie stays, lonely at bay,
while the Dove seeks what the heart fathoms.

Betwixt the Magpie and Dove
were no things alike,
a finding embraced by the both,
for the Magpie and Dove needed no thing alike,
to know their desires weren't opposed,
and with fate as itself,
with difference of heart,
as twain,
 they remain in their souls.

Together them never,
the Magpie and Dove,
for love blows like with wind of the old,
together them never,
the Magpie and Dove,
them and love,
flying alone.
